Sleepout for Street Soccer

On a chilly January evening three of the Gullands' team took part in a charity sleepout to help raise £1,233.57 towards a total of £4,700 for The Street Soccer Foundation.

The fundraising event took place at Maidstone United to raise awareness of homelessness in the town and more broadly across Kent www.streetsoccersleepout.co.uk

Tim Simmons, Lizzie Smith and Hardeep from Gullands took part in the sleepout and presented the cheque to Street Soccer’s Keith Mabbutt.

The partnership between The Stones' Community Trust and The Street Soccer Foundation sees the two charitable organisations run the nationally acclaimed 'Street Soccer Academy' programme, which specifically supports homeless and vulnerable young people with a 10-week coaching and development course: ultimately to help participants move into work, education or further training, to improve their life and prospects.

Tim Simmons at Gullands commented: “We admire the work of Keith and his team and we were very pleased to help raise this money which will help their ongoing work here in Maidstone.”
