Property market ‘reopens’ for business

Many people will have woken up to the news (13 May 2020) that the residential property market has now reopened for business, so what does that mean in practice for those looking to buy, sell or rent a property?

The Government has published updated guidance which now allows:

  • visiting estate or letting agents, developer sales offices or show homes;
  • viewing residential properties to look for a property to buy or rent;
  • preparing a residential property to move in;
  • moving home;
  • visiting a residential property to undertake any activities required for the rental or sale of that property

Whilst many businesses in the sector get to grips with the changes, it is also being recommended that house viewings continue to be carried out virtually where possible, that agents and house builders operate an appointment system for clients who want to visit their offices or show homes and if a physical house viewing is taking place, it is carried out with social distancing measures observed.

Here at Gullands our team continues to be here to support clients on their house buying or selling journey. Get in touch with our team today so we can help progress your property transaction to completion.
