Commercial Litigation and Commercial Dispute Resolution

Our commercial litigation team has over 100 years’ combined experience of handling commercial disputes for businesses. We have acted for clients – and in claims – of all sizes, from small claims track matters to claims involving over £1 million.

Our lawyers have the experience to grasp the legal issues early on, but will always take the time to listen to you and understand your objectives before we agree our strategy. We will look for the optimum outcome for your business, weighing up the legal risks, the commercial realities and the costs.

Whether we are taking your case to trial, representing you at a mediation, or negotiating on the telephone with your opponent, we will fight your corner.

Our commitment to you

At Gullands, we are your business partner with the legal know-how. We offer an initial telephone discussion with one of our team members to establish the nature of the dispute, whether there is any conflict of interest that would prevent us from acting and to identify what documents you will need to send us.

Our first concern will be advising you on the costs, so you can make an informed commercial decision on the best way forward. We can help with credit checks on the opposing party, to make sure the claim is worth pursuing. We will always consider alternative methods of settling disputes (ADR) tailored to your business and your commercial objectives.

For example, if the best way forward is to retrieve a valuable commercial relationship with the opposing party, we may suggest mediation or another ADR initiative to achieve this.

We consider all the options for funding your legal fees too, from paying us on an hourly rate, a fixed fee for agreed work, or in some cases insurance or “no win no fee agreements”.

Thank you for everything you have done for us. I also say thank you for being able to keep me calm when many times arose where things got to me. You feel more like a friend after 4yrs than our solicitor.
